Three EPs in, and we’re getting a good impression of what we can expect from eclectic alt-popster beaux.
‘Memories Written Down, So I Won’t Forget Them’ is a selection of tracks textured and crafted in a way that sounds more like an established and experienced superstar than an emerging talent.
Occasionally euphoric, often bewitching, it’s equal parts Rex Orange County and Troye Sivan – real yet hyperrealistic. ‘Won’t You Take Me Far?’ fizzes like a sugary soft drink, while ‘Fall Forward’ is a breezy earworm that’s feel unseasonably upbeat.
Whatever 2022 has in store for beaux, it’s sure to be big.
