EUT – Party Time

A Trojan horse for the frustrations and disappointments of transitioning into adulthood.

Label: V2 Records
Released: 19th February 2021

EUT’s second album encompasses their rebellious pop energy: ‘Party Time’ is all about lust, sex and loneliness, creating a world full of heartache, ecstasy and going against the grain.

Harnessing a raw energy, ‘Had Too Much’ is a vibrant theme song, feeling like a hit of something stronger. ‘Cool’ offers momentary respite from dancing around and spraying pints everywhere, lightheartedness masking something deeper and darker as Megan de Klerk sings: “But if it’s me and not anybody, let’s give it a shot I think it would be hot.”

‘The Buggs (Part II)’ is another distraction, abstract thought and metaphor coming alive, leaving you refreshed and parched all at the same time. As the album draws to a close it gains momentum, ‘When I Dive’ trying to drown out emotional words with a noisy breakdown.

EUT’s pop veneer is a Trojan horse for the frustrations and disappointments of transitioning into adulthood.
