India Jordan’s 2020 EP ‘For You’ was one of the success stories of last year and firmly established the producer as one of the brightest new talents in dance music. It was a record designed for ecstatic dancefloor release, unfortunately grounded by the drudgery of the ongoing pandemic. Not to be disheartened, though, India has decided that if we can’t make it back to the club right now, they’re just going to go deeper and harder anyway on the stunning follow up ‘Watch Out!”
‘Watch Out!” Is ultra high energy from the start with the rampaging beats of ‘Only Said Enough’ booting the door in for the other 4 tracks to make their presence felt. All the sonic dexterity and command of rhythm and space that India has mastered are at work here. The pace rarely lets up, but for the quirky experimentalism of ‘You Can’t Expect The Cars To Stop If You Haven’t Press The Button”, which features sampled traffic lights and other found sounds. Good tip btw, one for the kids. The EP concludes with the mesmerising one-two punch of ‘Feirabend’ and ‘And Groove’ whipping things up to a frenetic crescendo. India Jordan has done it again.
