There’s only one week left to get ready for Christmas; the next few days will be full of elbowing people out of the way for the last Tesco turkey, queueing up for what feels like six years to nab that M&S scarf for your nan, and placing online orders that – knowing your luck – won’t arrive in time anyway.
To celebrate the festive season, The Night Cafe have put together a list of their fave ever stocking fillers, and also a Christmassy-ish playlist. ‘Hotel California”s perfect for this time of the year, right?
We normally just have a pile of presents sitting on top of each other. A band favourite is Woody and Buzz Lightyear figurines; we were chatting about our favourite presents that we can remember from when we were younger, and we all got them. Pretty sure we all wore Woody’s hat around the house too!
Sean: I remember one year, my Nan got me Batman aftershave ahaha.
Josh: An apple, Royal Gala I think it was. It tasted heavy.
Carl: I think my favourite present I’ve ever received has to be Hulk Smash Hands, used to hit everything with them.
Arran: The best present I ever received was a load of coal, made loads of fires with it an that haha.
Obviously, when you get a bit older, Christmas isn’t the same as it used to be. I think once we get a bit older and all have children of our own it’ll start to feel exciting again, we just look forward to the heavy scran!
The most sentimental thing we’ve ever received is all our instruments, without them we would have never gotten together, to be honest! Music is what made us become friends, and it’s brought us closer than we’d ever imagined. We’re all grateful to have that bond with each other.
We hope everybody has a great Christmas and gets everything they want. Not gonna be as sick as Woody or Buzz, though, haha!
