Yamaha Music has released a second season of its documentary series, WAY UP House, which showcases six up-and-coming musicians from across the globe.
The series brings together artists for a unique songwriting experience, as they are assemble in a historic New York house filled with studio equipment and instruments, with the task of writing and producing songs over three days, culminating in a live performance in Brooklyn.
The musicians featured in this year’s series are Australian singer-songwriter Sam Fischer, Zimbabwean artist Gemma Griffiths, London-born drummer Jas Kayser, South Korean pop artist KATIE, Stockholm singer Mopiano, and R&B rock star Jordan Hawkins. They were mentored by Yamaha artist and Grammy-winning jazz bassist, John Patitucci.
Sebastian Krenmayr, Yamaha Music’s Head of Brand in Europe, comments: “This group of artists are not only from different continents but also part of different communities within the music industry. To bring them under one roof, get them to collaborate in new ways, and then witness the creative magic happen, felt very genuine and endearing.”
