Zuzu, Dylan Cartlidge and more – it’s The Futureheads’ Hit the North 2019 playlist

  • Dork
  • April 15, 2019

The Futureheads are back, and they’re playing Hit The North’s opening party (3rd May). We figured it was a decent enough excuse to get guitarist and all-around indie legend Ross Millard to select a few other acts from the line-up.

A Festival, A Parade – Pocket Knife

One of the most popular local bands in the region, are touring with Sam Fender soon and will definitely have a big crowd at HTN.

Swine Tax – Hold Your Own

Really good North East-based band with new material out this year. One part US-indie, one part British idiosyncrasy.

Emily Capell – Who Killed Smiley Culture?

Singer from down South with a great voice and a tasteful band.

Zuzu – Seabed

Haven’t seen Zuzu before but I really like the songs.

Avalanche Party – Porcelain

Boro band who are known for a getting their tops off and putting on an intense live show. A good band to see live.

Dylan Cartlidge – Wishing Well

One of the North-East region’s best known up and coming hip hop artists. Looking forward to seeing what he does next.

Roxy Girls – Dangerous Driving

Sunderland’s newest hopes. Twitchy DIY guitar punks.

Taken from the Dork Festival Guide 2019. The Futureheads headline one of three Hit The North Opening Parties on Friday 3rd May at Riverside, Newcastle. Sundara Karma play at O2 Academy, and Metronomy are at the Boiler Shop. Hit The North takes place on 5th May across various venues in Newcastle. Find out more at hitthenorthfestival.co.uk
