You know who’s exciting? Mura Masa is exciting, and over at Dork HQ we literally want Mura Mura Mura of his unstoppable heady beats (get ready to hear that a lot). So just as well that the news we’ve all been waiting for is here, with Mura Masa announcing details of his long awaited debut album – by way of a short film, because why not?
The self-titled record will drop on July 14th through his own imprint label Anchor Point, and features an all-star cast of guests including Charli XCX, Christine and the Queens, A$AP Rocky, AK Paul, Desiigner, Nao, Bonzai and only bloomin Damon Albarn amongst many more. Mura Masa (aka Alex Crossan) says the album captures “the confusion and chaos of being 20 and living in London for the first time.” We’ve been there, Alex.
Alongside the album reveal comes a huge tour announcement, with appearances at a dizzying number of festivals including Field Day, Parklife, and Reading and Leeds being followed by a string of European headline dates – with a big ‘ol nights in Bristol, Manchester and at London’s Brixton Academy amongst the bunch.
To top it all off, Mura Masa has recently been nominated for his first Ivor Novello award. It’s all happening. Frankly, we feel a bit giddy.
Catch the full revealing short film of Mura’s worldwide billboard hopping reveal, along with latest banger ‘1 Night’ with Charli XCX to get well in the mood. Summer’s just got a whole new soundtrack.
