49th & Main have unveiled plans for their forthcoming mixtape ‘B.O.A.T.S.’, and have shared a new single, ‘Icy’.
The mixtape is set to debut via Counter Records on June 30th, and will feature the pair’s previous AA-side single ‘Crash and Burn’/’Said Nothing’.
When discussing the meaning behind their latest single, the duo explained, “Icy is about how sometimes relationships can feel like the other person has been cold, but really, it’s just external factors and the inability to fully understand someone else’s perspective.”
‘B.O.A.T.S.’, which stands for “Based On A True Story,” represents the pair’s journey so far. The band explain that the title represents “the idea of the two of us as aliens in a new environment. It encompasses how we feel in this industry, still wrestling with the idea that we belong here and are meant to feel at home beside other great artists on rosters & festival line ups, etc.”
“The record itself is classic 49th & Main, genres all over the place but designed to soundtrack the best times of your life.”
