Angel Olsen has released another track from her upcoming album, ‘Big Time’, which is set to arrive on 3rd June.
‘Through The Fires’ is the third preview of the record so far, following on from lead single ‘All The Good Times’ and the album’s title track. ‘Big Time’ will be her sixth full-length, following on from 2020’s ‘Whole New Mess’.
Speaking about the track, Olsen said: ”Through The Fires’ is the centerpiece statement of this record. It’s a song I wrote to remind myself that this life is temporary, the past is not something to dwell on, that it’s important to keep moving, keep searching for the people that are also searching, and to notice the moments that are lighter and bigger than whatever trouble I’ve encountered.”
‘Big Time’ was written during the time Olsen was coming out as queer, and having her first experience of queer love and heartbreak. Contrasted against this was the loss that Olsen experienced when both of Olsen’s parents passed within weeks of each other, just after Olsen came out to them.
Olsen is set to head out on a UK and Ireland tour in support of ‘Big Time’ this October. You can catch her at:
