Stop worrying, people. Arctic Monkeys will definitely make their Pyramid Stage slot at Glastonbury 2023 this evening (Friday 23rd June).
Emily Eavis confirmed the news on BBC Radio 2 this morning, talking to Zoe Ball from the festival.
“They’re on,” she confirmed. “It was a little bit close there for a minute and we were thinking about whether we should have a serious backup plan in place but no, thankfully they’re on so that is great.”
Doubts about the band’s bill-topping set started when they pulled out of a Dublin show earlier this week due to frontman Alex Turner’s acute laryngitis. However, after fans saw the band’s stage set up being loaded in last night, and heard them sound checking this morning, those fears have been quelled. They’ll hit the Pyramid Stage at 10:15pm tonight.
And @ArcticMonkeys are now sound checking. Here is some very professional video with high quality audio. #glastonbury2023https://t.co/ERbL0Pao70 pic.twitter.com/3ytFGQRND6
