Austra confirm UK + Ireland tour, debut video for ‘Future Politics’

Katie Stelmanis will be bringing her electro groovers around the country in March
With a fresh new album on the way, Austra aren’t holding anything back as they head into Xmas – revealing details of a UK + Ireland tour next year along with a cracking new video for track ‘Future Politics’

The video finds all sorts of shenanigans going on, but centred around what looks like a power plant. Talking about the video, band leader Katie Stelmanis and clip director Allie Avital said:

“Future Politics is the breaking down of paradigms. In this video, we wanted to explore what a world might look like if our values were transformed: instead of glorifying labour, maybe we could learn to glorify the act of doing absolutely nothing”

The track itself is the title track for their upcoming third studio album, set for release on January 20th. Following that, the band will be returning to the UK for a run of headline shows at the end of March – calling into Brighton, London, Edinburgh and Manchester before a quick nip over to Ireland for a show in Dublin on March 25th.
