Avril Lavigne has shared a new single, ‘I’m A Mess’, featuring YUNGBLUD.
The track arrived yesterday, November 3rd, and is the Canadian singer’s first release since her seventh LP, ‘Love Sux’, which dropped in February – it will also appear on the deluxe edition of the album, which will be shared in full on November 25th.
Both vocalists chime in for the chorus line – “But I know I’m a mess, I’m a mess / When we’re not together” – which makes clear that they are familiar with the feeling of homesickness. Produced by Travis Barker, ‘I’m A Mess’ was also released through the Blink-182 drummer’s record label, DTA Records.
“We both tour and travel so much with our music careers,” Lavigne shared via social media. “We definitely know what it’s like to miss our friends, family, boyfriend/girlfriend, or whatever. The song is about being apart and missing someone.”
“Working with YUNGBLUD is so much stupid fun,” she added. “All we do is laugh and tell jokes. He is very funny and very talented. That kid can sing his ass off. His voice is so beautiful on our song.”
