Azealia Banks kicked off festival bill following offensive tweets

Banks will no longer headline London festival Born & Bred.
Azealia Banks has been dropped from London festival Born & Bred, which she was due to headline, following an overnight Twitter rampage.

The series of tweets – which included racial and homophobic slurs – started after she compared Zayn Malik‘s new ‘Like I Would’ video to her own work.

“Damn Zayn be mood boarding the fuck of out me,” she wrote. “I’m not mad about this though. Zayn is a cutie pie.”

The festival – which will take place from 4th – 5th June at Hagerstown Park in Hackney – responded swiftly this afternoon.

“Rinse FM I Born & Bred is a celebration of rave culture and has been created for EVERYONE,” reads their statement. “We celebrate inclusivity and equality.”

Other acts scheduled to play include ILOVEMAKONNEN, Wiley + Slimzee, Newham Generals + J Cush, Bugzy Malone, Novelist, Crazy Cousinz and Kyla.
