Babymetal confuse telly audiences as they appear on The Late Show

Babymetal. Oh Babymetal. If you’ve not seen Babymetal, you haven’t lived. Or at least, you haven’t experienced the heady mix of confusion, adrenaline and side order of “is this, y’know, ok?” that comes with the Japanese sort-of-metal-sort-of-J-poppers.

American TV audiences certainly weren’t expecting the Fox God Inquisition, that’s for sure, when the band made their US telly debut on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show.

“I’m not sure what I’m about to see,” he explained, “but I’m pretty excited about it.”
