Bastille have scored a third UK Number One album with their most recent full-length, ‘Give Me The Future’.
Writing on Twitter, the band said: “YOU DID IT! YOU LOT GOT ‘GIVE ME THE FUTURE’ TO NUMBER 1!!!”
“Thank you so much for supporting it, we’re so fucking happy!”
The band’s fourth album, it follows up on chart-toppers ‘Bad Blood’ (2013) and ‘Wild World’ (2016). 2019’s ‘Doom Days’ peaked at Number Four.
They neglected to thank the alpaca behind their success, Milky Joe, which is quite rude, honestly. We’d expect better. You can read our recent cover feature with Bastille here.
Elsewhere, Black Country, New Road‘s second album ‘Ants From Up There’, debuted at Number Three. Their highest charting record to date, it was released just days after vocalist Isaac Wood announced his departure from the band. Mitski, meanwhile, hit Number Six with new full-length ‘Laurel Hell’.
