Baywaves are back with a brand new track, and you can check it out first on Dork.
Titled ‘Over Time’, the band’s latest woozy cut comes alongside a batch of UK shows, which are set to kick off this coming weekend.
A taster of new music to follow up their most recent EP ‘It’s Been Like’, ‘Over Time’ is the first in a batch of “a new collection of material” to be released via Heist or Hit, according to the band.
“’Over Time’ is a Berocca of languid teenage angst fizzing in a glass of jazz chords, sampled drums and 70s San Francisco vibes,” they explain. Sounds about right.
The track was inspired by a meme reading “I don’t want to care. But I will. Even more than before,” which provoked the band to pen a track from the perspective of exasperated millennials, jaded by the mess of the world around the while wanting to avoid cynicism.
It’s a brilliant lesson in marrying a depth of lyrical content with music that soothes the soul. You can check out ‘Over Time’, and those upcoming live dates, below.
