Beabadoobee has a brand new single, ‘I Wish I Was Stephen Malkmus’

An ode to change via the frontman of legendary indie types Pavement. Nice.

Right up the top of our new artist crush list, the really very awesome Beabadoobee has dropped a brand new track.

Scoring all the indie bonus points, it’s called ‘I Wish I Was Stephen Malkmus’, referencing the lead singer of one of Bea’s favourite bands, Pavement. A fittingly laconic, grungy ode to change, it follows up on previous megabanger ‘She Plays Bass’ as the second taster of her forthcoming ‘Space Cadet’ EP.

That’s set to drop on 18th October, bang in the middle of a stint across the pond supporting Clairo that continues on through to the end of November. Before that kicks off, though, she’ll play her first international headline show at New York’s Chelsea Music Hall on 26th September.
