You’ve been reading teasing about Better Oblivion Community Center for ‘quite a while now’ without 100% knowing exactly what is going on, right, Dear Reader?
Well, rejoice, because the exciting new project has broken cover. A team up between the magnificent Phoebe Bridgers and the equally fantastic Conor Oberst, they’ve just shock dropped their debut album through Dead Oceans, and you can check it out below.
Consisting of 10 tracks, it was written and recorded in LA last year, and features a cast list of musicians including Yeah Yeah Yeahs Nick Zinner, Carla Azar from Autolux, Taylor Hollingsworth of Oberst’s Mystic Valley Band. There are also contributions from frequent Bright Eyes collaborator Andy LeMaster and Anna Butterss.
Physical versions of the album will arrive on 22nd February.
It’s not the first time the two artists have joined forces – Oberst previously provided vocals for ‘Would You Rather’ from Bridgers’ debut ‘Stranger in the Alps’, and last October they dropped a collaborative version of Oberst’s ‘LAX’.
