Beyonce’s surprise album ‘Lemonade’ is out now

‘Lemonade’ was a not-so-surprise surprise Beyoncé album after all, featuring collabs with Jack White, James Blake, Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd
There we have it. ‘Lemonade’ was a not-so-surprise surprise Beyoncé album after all, and it’s streaming exclusively on Tidal now.

Yes, streaming on Tidal does count. Probably.

Alongside a HBO special broadcast last night (23rd April), Beyoncé debuted a record featuring collabs with Jack White, James Blake, Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd. Keeping it as low key as ever, there.

‘Lemonade’ also samples Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘Maps’ and Soulja Boy’s ‘Turn My Swag On’ on the track ‘Hold Up’, with the same song also featuring writing credits for Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, Father John Misty, MNEK and Emile Haynie. There’s also Led Zeppelin, Annimal Collective and Outkast samples elsewhere.

The HBO broadcast was a ‘visual album’, featuring cameos from Jay Z and Serena Williams.

The tracklisting for ‘Lemonade’ reads:

01 Pray You Catch Me

02 Hold Up

03 Don’t Hurt Yourself [ft. Jack White]

04 Sorry

05 6 Inch [ft. The Weeknd]

06 Daddy Lessons

07 Love Drought

08 Sandcastles

09 Forward [ft. James Blake]

10 Freedom [ft. Kendrick Lamar]
