Big Thief’s bittersweet new track ‘Shark Smile’ is worth your undivided attention

"'Shark Smile' is the story of a car accident in which one dies and one lives,” explains singer and songwriter Adrianne Lenker.
Brooklyn’s Big Thief have shared another track taken from their new album.

Titled ‘Shark Smile’, it was premiered over the weekend on Matt Wilkinson’s Beats 1 show, and is now streaming online. You can check it out below – it’s really very lovely, in a distinctly bittersweet way.

It’s taken from the band’s second album ‘Capacity’, set for release next month on 9th June via Saddle Creek.

“‘Shark Smile’ is the story of a car accident in which one dies and one lives,” explains singer and songwriter Adrianne Lenker. “She recalls her lover leading up to the moment of the wreck, wishing she’d been taken into the next realm too.”
