Big White are today premiering a video for their track ‘Down At The Beach’ – check it out below, first on Dork.
The reflective guitar pop number is the latest to be taken from the Sydney band’s debut album ‘Teenage Dreams’, due for release in the UK on 18th November via Caroline International (pre-order here). It follows on from earlier cuts ‘You Know I Love You’ and ‘Dinosaur City’.
“We could have shot it amongst the tourists posing on the beaches of Cypress, but the song isn’t about the beach or the water or beers in the sand,” says vocalist Jack T Wotton. “It’s about killing something that’s old, letting it go and in the same instance allowing yourself a time and place to reflect on what once was”.
“We had some spare time in Belgium between our shows in Paris and Amsterdam. Bowen [drums] read up on this abandoned castle about an hour outside of Brussels where we were staying. We drove out there with Cody’s camera and shot the footage ourselves, then had it edited back home. The castle did a lot of the work in just being beautiful. It was enormous, six or seven spires, four floors high – half of them falling apart.”
