Blood Orange is keeping us busy today – he’s released a second new video

He's shared two new vids, 'Charcoal Baby' and 'Jewelry'.

This morning, Dev Hynes unveiled the first track from his forthcoming Blood Orange – and now we’ve a second.

Titled ‘Charcoal Baby’, the first single from ‘Negro Swan’ comes alongside a video directed by Crack Stevens; ‘Jewelry’ meanwhile was directed by Hynes, and stars Janet Mock, Kai the Black Angel, and Ian Isiah.

In a statement, Hynes describes the album as “an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of color. A reach back into childhood and modern traumas, and the things we do to get through it all.”

“The underlying thread through each piece on the album is the idea of HOPE,” he continues, “and the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.”

‘Negro Swan’ is set for release on 24th August. He’ll play O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on 29th October.
