Blossoms’ album is Number 1, highest selling British debut of the year

The band came in at 9500 sales ahead of their nearest rival.
Blossoms’ self-titled album is not only Number 1 in the Official Albums Chart, it’s the highest selling British debut of the year.

“We’re absolutely made up that the album has gone to Number 1,” say the band. “From the scaffolding yard to the top of the charts, who’d have thought it? Viva Stockport!”

Blossoms have also just announced a one-off London show for later this year, playing O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on 13th December. It follows a largely sold out UK tour this September and October.

Elsewhere in the chart, Wild Beasts‘Boy King’ enters at Number 9, while Moose Blood score a massive victory with their new album ‘Blush’ debuting at Number 10. Well in, lads.
