Rumours of secret sets are everything at Glastonbury. We all know The Chunrnups on the Pyramid Stage are actually the Foo Fighters. We’ve probably mostly heard whispers of Hoozier on the Woodsies tonight (Friday 23rd June). A little birdy still won’t stop tweeting away about Pulp making an appearance, either.

One that now seems absolutely nailed on, however, is Blossoms and Rick Astley teaming up to perform their now established set of The Smiths classics. Especially after Emily Eavis basically confirmed it talking to Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2.

The chat went:

Zoe: Now there’s been a lot of rumours, Emily.

Emily: Yes – go on.

Zoe: The Pretenders, they are playing, that has been confirmed for Day 1. I’ve heard something about Blossoms and Rick Astley maybe doing their Smiths set?

Emily: Is that confirmed?

Zoe: Is that confirmed?

Emily. Yes. Yes. No!

Zoe: No! It’s not confirmed!

Emily: Too late, oh dear. Is this live?

Zoe: Oh hi Nick, there’s Emily’s husband looking quite angry with me. Oh it’s live is it, okay.

Emily: It’s too late now!

Rumour suggests you’ll see them on Woodsies on Saturday, 24th June at around 6pm. Insert your own Smiths puns here.
