Blur are set to return to play London’s Wembley Stadium next summer for a special show.
Their only UK appearance and first headline show since 2015, they’ll play the national stadium on Saturday, 8th July. It’ll be their first ever show at Wembley, and will feature support from slowthai, Self Esteem and Jockstrap.
Speaking about the announcement, Damon Albarn says: “We really love playing these songs and thought it’s about time we did it again.”
Graham Coxon continues: “I’m really looking forward to playing with my blur brothers again and revisiting all those great songs… blur live shows are always amazing for me. A nice guitar and an amp turned right up and loads of smiling faces…”
Dave Rowntree adds: “After the chaos of the last few years, it’s great to get back out to play some songs together on a summer’s day in London. Hope to see you there.”
The band’s last album, ‘The Magic Whip’, was released in 2015.
Tickets for the show goes on sale on Friday, 18th November at 10am GMT. An artist presale will start on Wednesday, 16th November at 10am GMT. Find more details here.
