Boy Azooga have won this year’s Welsh Music Prize

They released debut ‘1, 2, Kung Fu’ back in June.

The winner of this year’s Welsh Music Prize has been announced – 1, 2, Kung Fu’ by Boy Azooga.

The result was announced during an award ceremony at The Exchange Hotel in Cardiff Bay yesterday (Wednesday 7th November).

The band’s Davey Newington commented: “It feels amazing to be recognised along with the all the other amazing artists who have won this prize. Thank you!”

They beat out shortlisted albums from the likes of former winners Gruff Rhys and Gwenno, as well as Bryde, Astroid Boys and Manic Street Preachers.
