Boy Pablo has announced his debut album ‘Wachito Rico’ with fizzing new track ‘hey girl’

The anticipated release is landing on October 23rd, best get that in ya diaries

Serving up sugar-sweet doses of indie pop like no other, Boy Pablo has announced details of his debut album along with lead single ‘hey girl’

The pop sensation brings everything we love about him to the fore on ‘hey girl’, a glorious lovesick ode built on the brightest of guitars – like summer distilled into three golden minutes

Speaking about the track (released alongside b-side ‘i just wanna go home’), Boy Pablo explained that both tracks “were made during a time I wrote a lot of music for a song project with a friend of mine, Judah Kubendran. I rearranged the tracks and rewrote the lyrics and melodies, and quickly realized that they were too good not to be released.

“The lyrics of ‘hey girl’ are written from the point of view of a young boy who is in love for the first time and wants to make a move on this girl. He’s nervous, shy and shaky, but dares to jump into it and talks to the girl. ‘I just wanna go home’ is about getting older and realising how much responsibility you are left with as an adult, and getting lost in the confusion that comes with trying to navigate the landscape of adulthood.”

‘hey girl’ features on Boy Pablo’s anticipated debut album ‘Wachito Rico’, announced today and set for release on October 23rd! Expect the sunshine to well and truly shine. Don’t worry about it being October either, Boy Pablo has the weather sorted we’re sure…
