Little Simz, Holly Humberstone and Dave are among the first performers announced for this year’s BRIT Awards

  • January 21, 2022

The first wave of performers for this year’s BRIT Awards have been revealed.

Dave, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, Holly Humberstone, Liam Gallagher and Little Simz will all appear at the ceremony which takes place at London’s O2 on Tuesday 8th February. It will be broadcast exclusively on ITV and ITV Hub, and streamed for non-UK viewers via The BRITs’ YouTube channel.

The nominations for this year’s BRIT Awards were announced last month, with Little Simz, Wolf Alice, Sam Fender, Self Esteem, Glass Animals, Griff and more all up for prizes.

Little Simz and Sam Fender will take on Adele, Ed Sheeran and Dave for both the Artist of the Year and Album of the Year awards, with Wolf Alice up against Coldplay, D-Block Europe, Little Mix and London Grammar for Best Group.

“Completely overwhelmed and honoured to be nominated for 3 (!!) BRIT awards alongside so many incredible artists,” Sam Fender said. “Album of the Year is the absolute dream, there’s been so many amazing records out this year so I’m just buzzing to be in amongst it. I’m sure it will be a wild night.”

Elsewhere, Self Esteem has got a first BRITs nod in the Best New Artist category. “As you can imagine I am VERY excited,” she explains. “I’ve watched the BRITs since I was a little girl and to think I’m nominated for one is actually pretty overwhelmingly emotional! I’m so thrilled by the idea of my message reaching more ears, and respect to the BRITs for taking a punt on me!“

Holly Humberstone has already been announced as the winner of the Rising Star award. The winners of the four genre categories – Rock/Alternative Act, Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act, Dance Act, Pop/R&B Act – will be determined by a public vote via TikTok.
