The BRITs happened last night – here’s who won ‘stuff’

  • May 12, 2021

The winners of this year’s BRIT Awards have been announced.

With a big flashy ceremony held at London’s O2 Arena last night, the big winner was Dua Lipa – who walked away with both the awards for Female Solo Artist and the Mastercard Album gong for her latest full-length ‘Future Nostalgia’.

Other big winners, on a night dominated by female talent, included Little Mix, who took British Group, and Arlo Parks, who won Breakthrough Artist.

The ceremony was the first live music event at The O2 in over a year, acting as one of the test events for a return to gigs to follow. Audience members were limited, but were not required to socially distance or wear face coverings. They did, however, have to show proof of a negative lateral flow test to attend, and have been asked to take a second post event.

The full list of winners reads:

BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST (in association with TikTok)- Arlo Parks
BRITISH GROUP – Little Mix
MALE SOLO ARTIST(in association with Amazon Music) – J Hus
INTERNATIONAL FEMALE SOLO ARTIST – Billie Eilish

BRITs RISING STAR (supported by BBC Radio 1) – Griff
BRITISH SINGLE WITH MASTERCARD (Supported by Capital FM) – Harry Styles ‘Watermelon Sugar’
