BROCKHAMPTON have released ‘The Family’, their final album as a collective, as well a surprise parting gift, ‘TM’

Following the release of their supposed final record, ‘The Family’, BROCKHAMPTON have shared a surprise parting gift for their supporters – the unannounced 11-track LP, ‘TM’.

Following the announcement of the group’s hiatus back in January, they went on to perform two final shows at London’s Brixton Academy and one last festival set at Coachella. Recorded in Spring and initially announced in late October, the US hip-hop collective have since released two singles from ‘The Family’ – ‘Big Pussy’ and ‘The Ending’. The 17-track record arrived in full on 17th November via Question Everything/RCA Records.

However, ‘The Family’ has now been followed up with a surprise drop – another LP, the 11-track ‘TM’, has been shared as a parting gift to supporters alongside a personal statement from group member Kevin Abstract, who is the only voice featured on their supposed concluding effort.

“Over the past few years, the members of the band began to move our separate ways, and focus on our individual careers and passions,” he explains. “With this project, a few of us were inspired to make something new that would bring closure to the past, and set the table for all of us to finally be able to explore our individual futures. I hope you understand and enjoy the music.”

“I feel like whoever is reading this – whoever has been with BROCKHAMPTON since the beginning deserves some sort of closure,” he summarises. “The album is an attempt at that. Thanks for giving us a chance. For holding me up. Holding me down. For being everything I needed when I was just some nigga from Texas. I still am. Yeah, this show is over, but the furnace is still glowing.”
