BTS are reportedly swapping Columbia Records for Universal Music Group

Industry moves are afoot?

Reports suggest BTS are set to part ways with Sony Music’s Columbia Records, moving to Universal Music Group.

According to reports in US outlets Billboard and Variety, the group will no longer be working with Columbia Records and The Orchard. Apparently their contract with the latter was a month-to-month relationship, while they only needed to notify of Sony of their intent to end the arrangement.

It sees their three-year spell with Sony Music – which began in 2018 – come to an end. The move to UMG is expected to start on 1st December.
