BTS’ Jin has shared a message with ARMY about his military service: “I’ll Be Back Soon”

BTS’s Jin has shared a video message for fans, as he starts his mandatory military service.

The clip, filmed in an alleyway, features Jin talking directly to the group’s dedicated fan base, ARMY. He shared that he was filming the video during a break from appearing on a South Korean variety show.

“Whenever I am available I wish to leave these videos and records once every few months to share with you as much as possible, even if it’s just checking in briefly,” he said. “I may not be by your side at this very moment, but I’ll go looking for you soon, so if you just wait a little bit. I’ll be back soon. That’s all for today. Next time when I have the chance, I’ll be back with another video.”

Jin is the first of the seven BTS members to start their mandatory service. According to South Korean law, all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28 must serve in the military for at least 18 months. In December 2020, the Korean National Assembly passed a motion to allow top K-pop stars to postpone service until age 30.
