Calpurnia have dropped a brand new banger, ‘Cell’

The Canadian troupe are debuting their first new material since their debut EP.

Calpurnia have dropped a brand new track.

Titled ‘Cell’, the fresh cut is out now via paradyse, and is the first new music from the Canadian quartet since the release of their debut EP ‘Scout’ last year.

Produced by Twin Peaks’ frontman Cadien Lake James and co-producer R. Andrew Humphrey, you can check it out below.

“This song is about being taken advantage of,” says frontman Finn Wolfhard, who you may also be aware of from, y’know, ‘other stuff’*. “It was amazing working with Cadien and Andrew again and we’re really excited for everyone to hear it!”

The track also comes with a video. Guitarist Ayla Tesler-Mabe explains: “While on our first ever American tour, we had the pleasure of being joined by the incredible Pooneh Ghana for our last two shows in Austin and Houston. She is easily one of the most prolific and talented photographers (and videographers!) on the music scene right now, and so we left it to her to capture the joy and adventure of packing all your bandmates into a single van and hitting the road. This video is set to our newest single, Cell, and we sincerely hope that this video makes you at least a bit as happy as we are in this footage.”

* Honestly, Dear Reader, we think Calpurnia are brilliant WITHOUT having to get into all of that, so let’s not have to go on about Really Very Good Netflix Shows We’re Very Hyped About Season Three Of every time we mention them, eh? – Ed
