Amidst many live show successes and announcements, Cat Burns has generously dropped two new singles – ‘people pleaser’ and ‘sleep at night’.
The singles mark Cat’s first original material since her ‘emotionally unavailable’ EP back in May – she walked Dork through the release track-by-track, which you can catch up on here.
On the first track, Cat Burns has said, “‘people pleaser’ is what it says on the tin, my struggles with being a people pleaser and why I am one.” Ironically, the track has become something of a fan-favorite through her live shows this year.
It’s partner song deals with what happens when you can’t please someone, and how to best handle that: “‘sleep at night’ is a really personal song for me; it’s about being deeply hurt and wronged by someone but deciding to take the high road and not say anything bad about them because you’re a good person.”
You can listen to ‘people pleaser’ and ‘sleep at night’ here, or watch the lyric videos below:
The two singles come off the back of a sold-out headline at London’s KOKO on Thursday, October 4th. Cat Burns was also just announced as a special guest for Ed Sheeran’s huge North America tour next summer. What a week.
