Check out ‘Isombard’ – the new one from Declan McKenna

Taking aim at bumbling news reporters, he’s on to something special.
Declan McKenna seems to just keep delivering and delivering, with latest track ‘Isombard’ once again proving just how vital he could be over the next few years.

Not shying away from the big talking points of the day, ‘Isombard’ finds McKenna directing his attention to right-wing US media with brutal efficiency, all coated with an infectious pop coating.

Talking about the track to FADER, McKenna said:

“The idea of “Isombard” is basically about this right wing Fox News-type TV presenter trying to justify things like police brutality and xenophobia, and using cases for backwards political gains but completely fumbling over his words and not really knowing what he’s talking about. It’s also maybe me trying to rewrite next to of course god america i by E. E. Cummings, but as a pop song”

E.E. Cummings has never sounded so good. Declan McKenna has a busy run of dates lined up for the rest of the year, supporting Blossoms on their mammoth UK Tour alongside headline dates in Newcastle, Leeds and London.
