Chris Cornell has passed away, aged 52

The death of the Soundgarden frontman is described as "sudden and unexpected".
Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has reportedly passed away. He was 52 years old.



In a statement to the Associated Press, representative Brian Bumbery confirmed Cornell passed on Wednesday night (17th May) in Detroit. Soundgarden played the Fox Theatre in the city that evening.



Bumbery described the death as “sudden and unexpected”. The statement said the family would be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause and asked for privacy.
