Chvrches have covered The 1975’s ‘Somebody Else’, and it’s obviously brilliant

Best band covers best band, everyone wins.
Chvrches have laid down a version of The 1975’s ‘Somebody Else’ in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.

The band gave the performance earlier today (15th March) as part of the build up to the release of their third album, ‘Love Is Dead’. You can check it out below.

Also performing lead single ‘Get Out’, the band gave their take on The 1975’s modern classic – which was compared on social media to a Chvrches track last year.

Back in June 2017, a fan realised that playing ‘Somebody Else’ at the wrong speed on vinyl resulted in a track that sounded pretty Chvrches-like.

The band’s Martin Doherty saw the post at the time, and pondered if playing one of their songs might’ve sound like The 1975. Apparently, yes.
