The greatest popstar on the planet, CMAT, is back with a brand new track, ‘Whatever’s Inconvenient’.
Described in a press release as firing “the starter pistol on her second album”, CMAT explains the track is “a mission statement for me (and for my second album). It’s a big question mark over why I am so unendingly bad at entering and maintaining romantic relationships. I don’t really answer the question here, because I can’t and probably never will, but it’s always helpful to acknowledge your own uselessness (I find).”
Premiered by Clara Amfo on BBC Radio 1, it comes alongside a video shot in Kos, Greece by Collective Film, which you can check out below.
‘Whatever’s Inconvenient’ was recorded and produced with Bonny Light Horseman’s Josh Kaufman (Cassandra Jenkins, Anais Mitchell) in upstate New York in the US, with additional production and mix by Matias Tellez (Girl in Red) at his studio in Bergen, Norway.
