Coachella adds another dimension with virtual reality experiences

A cardboard headset is the perfect accompaniment to that festival jester hat you've been craving.
Coachella is getting futuristic this year, introducing a multitude of virtual reality experiences.

The event is partnering up with to provide ticket holders with cardboard headsets in the mail, which they can use alongside a smartphone app to view enhanced performances, 360 degree panoramas and tours of the festival site. Acts including Matt & Kim and Gallant will also contribute content.

The app will be available on iOs and Android, and will update before, during and after the festival.

Coachella takes place between April 15th-17th and 22nd-24th. Check out a video explaining the new tech below.
