Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile may just be working on the collaboration of the year

  • Dork News Desk
  • March 14, 2017
It’s been two years now since Courtney Barnett firmed her standing as a wordsmith with the keys to everyone’s diary in latest album ‘Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit’ – and it’s been the same amount of time since Kurt Vile released his latest ‘b’lieve i’m goin down’ too. Probably about time for things to shimmer their way back into view right?

It looks like Courtney and Kurt are picking up the mantle, with the duo recently spotted working together in a Melbourne studio by Triple J, that’s seemingly confirmed that a collaboration is afoot (as shown in the below picture – if you need some visual proof on the table)

What a fun week!!! @kurtvile & @courtneymelba collaboration is just the best thing ever ?? @calbarter is so lucky to be working with such amazing artists and all round legends

It comes in the midst of Kurt Vile’s headline run around Australia in support of his 2015 LP, and an indicator that something special is on the cards – as long as we keep our eyes and ears peeled. Now, if only we could write songs half as good, because ‘Dork Vile Burnett’ sounds like a cracking side-project if we ever did hear one?

No, just us – fair enough.

Thanks, Courtyyyy. And #meeniyantownhall xo cyas soon @courtneymelba photo: @mistletone
