Courtney Barnett has recorded vocals for The Breeders’ new album

Good bands all together like one big happy family. Awwww.
Courtney Barnett is set to feature on The Breeder’s new album.

After visiting the band in Ohio on a day off from her US tour, she ended up in the studio where the band are recording their first album since 2008’s ‘Mountain Battles’. Long(ish) story short, Barno and her band sang backing vocals on a song, where they’re credited as The Courtney barnett Quintet.

The Breeders posted a photo of a CD of the track, writing: “Courtney Barnett’s band — in Ohio yesterday to play Nelsonville — visited us in the studio. Of course we had them sing backup vocals on a song…”

We’ve paraphrased a bit. Y’know. Internet.

Courtney Barnett hits the UK next month for Latitude and the Somerset House Summer Series.
