Cowboyy, a new art-pop collective from the south coast, have just delivered their first track, ‘Gmaps’.

The elusive group formed in January 2022 and have settled on their current line-up; vocalist, lead guitarist, producer and songwriter Stanley Powell, bassist Reubin Yarnold, guitarist Kai Smith and drummer Rhys Teal.

Their debut single ‘Gmap’ has arrived via Nice Swan Records. It was co-produced with David Evans at the Old Chapel Studios and had its radio premiere via Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music 1.

On this big moment for the band, frontman Stanley Powell says: “When we first started rehearsing together, ‘Gmaps‘ was the first song I had written for Cowboyy. I was away from home and didn’t have a guitar with me at the time. The first thing I did when I got back was play it. I remember being told it would get stuck in people’s heads, I liked that.”

Cowboyy have established a fanbase through their live shows by teasing the discography to come; one that cements a new sound inspired by math-rock, post-punk, electronic and jazz.
