Fast-rising newcomer Daisy Brain has shared a live session version of latest single ‘Down’ – get a first look at it on Dork now.
A scuzzy, fuzzy, grungey diamond in the rough, the Really Very Good track is a taster of a new EP, ‘Disconnected Happy’, set for release on 1st April.
Daisy Brain – aka Will Tse – explains: “‘Down’ is a song about loneliness, depression and anxiety. But the kind that is innate and subtle where it penetrates your daily life like a low drone, slowing you down and draining you. I wanted to capture that in a way that felt relatable and honest without being preachy. We’re all in this shit together, and it’s as much about the little things as the big things. Whether it’s creeping anxiety about not being funny enough at parties or worrying that you’re becoming more and more like your dad. I’ve been depressed for years, but I’ve learned that I’m still allowed to have fun. Self-deprecation is funny, life doesn’t have to be serious all the time and I wrote this song as a big eye roll at depression – we’re all in it together, even if you feel like shit.”
The track follows up on a sold-out tour last month. He’s set to hit the road for another 11-date run this May, with appearances at The Great Escape, Neighbourhood Weekender and Community Festival all on the cards.
