Dame Jean have released a messy new video for their new single, ‘Wasted Love’ (pre-order here).
Out this Friday, 16th March, the single laments a rubbish relationship via uber-catchy guitar-pop that fizzes with attitude.
“’Wasted Love’ is an angst fuelled cathartic purge of everything that jittered in Sammy’s mind after being betrayed by a lover,” the band explain. “It’s bitter, spiteful and raw. Since writing it time has diluted emotions and opinions, however ‘Wasted Love’ remains as a sonic exhibition of a frustrated mind.
“We wanted the video to represent that same helpless frustration you feel when trapped in your own mind with an unsolvable puzzle and how that frustration can become toxic. We worked with an artist called Nicolas Stevenson who animated the video by hand and a small group of friends who helped us build the set and shoot it so it was all a very homegrown process.”
