Declan Welsh and The Decadent West have shared ‘King Of My Head’, a second taste of their newly-announced sophomore LP, ‘2’.

This new track follows the lead single, ‘Mercy’, which the four-piece shared in October. The group was recently nominated for a Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award for their 2021 EP, ‘It’s Been A Year’.

Set to arrive on September 22nd via Frictionless Music, the new record is produced by the Grammy-nominated and Mercury Award-winning Gianluca Buccaletti (Arlo Parks, Big Piig, Easy Life) and mastered by Heba Kadry (Beach House, Bjork, Big Thief, Slowdive).

“The lyrics are about kidding yourself that you’re in control,” the titular frontman shares of the fresh single. “I’m the ‘King of My Head’, tell me who would rule instead? Cos see when your head’s working against you, you think to yourself sometimes – this is me. I’m doing this. I can stop this. I can think my way out of feeling this way. But the tool you have to fix the problem is the same one that causes it. Like fixing a hole in the wall with a hammer”.
