Dora Jar has shared a brand new track, ‘Spell’, which arrives alongside a music video accompaniment.
The fresh drop marks her third song release of 2022, landing as a suitably spooky Halloween release and partnering with her current single release, ‘Bump’.
On the new offering, Dora offers: “‘Spell’ is a song about the feeling of the calm before the storm, a pensive reflection and anticipation of change, a wish for a deeper understanding of nature, and a yearning to know my role within the ebb and flow. I usually get seasonal depression in October, which is also my sister’s and my birth month, so I wanted to release it as a gift to honor the melancholy of transition.”
The music video for ‘Spell’ was developed from Dora’s own drawings, brought to life through VFX but maintaining an intimate sensibility under the direction of frequent collaborator Erica Snyder.

The new single continues a massive year for Dora Jar, including a support slot alongside Billie Eilish – she gushed over the American singer in a recent Dork feature, which you can read here. She will embark on her own US tour next month – full dates and tickets are available here.
