Well, Dear Reader. Isn’t this an odd world we find ourselves in? Yes. The answer is yes. It’s a rhetorical question.
In terms of timing, we’re not entirely sure if this is awful (the entire world has changed since we sent this magazine to print ten days ago) or brilliant (we all need something to do to cheer us up, right?) but here we are. So, with a glittery flourish and an only slightly wonky grin, we present to you the new issue of Dork – a time capsule into a month that we all felt really very excited about, which is now looking rather different indeed.
Before we introduce you to what’s inside – a serious disclaimer. Because of ‘world events’, quite a few things have changed since this issue was completed. That means we refer to shows that won’t be happening, albums that won’t be in your ears for a bit longer yet, and festivals that – well, in many cases we just don’t know.
What we DO have though, is the most rammed, varied, exciting and vibrant issue of Dork yet. No, really – we’ve decided to bring a party direct to your door. We’re delighted to present our cover stars, the fast rising and perfect-for-these-difficult-times Easy Life. Already with a UK Album Chart Top 10 under their belt without yet even having technically released their debut full-length, they’re a band who can make even the most trying times seem a little bit better. Fingers crossed that one works, eh?
We delve deep into NYC’s finest in our ultimate guide to The Strokes – who have a new album ‘on the way’ – and head Down Under with global sensation Tones & I plus a whole bunch of other amazing acts from the other side of the globe, including The Chats, Dune Rats, Cable Ties, Bad//Dreems and more.
Elsewhere, we’re unapologetic in our love of Sorry, talking delays with Mystery Jets (yes, we know – Ed), and hitting the road to report in on what’s looking like it’s going to be The 1975’s biggest banger yet.

Though he does describe it as “being like school”, and there isn’t school anymore. So, y’know. There are no rules.
