Introducing this month’s Dork, featuring cover star Zara Larsson

  • Dork
  • February 12, 2021

The new issue of Dork is out now, featuring our brand new cover star, the brilliant Zara Larsson!

Well, Dear Reader, we’re pretty sure you’re eagle-eyed enough to notice some changes around here. Yes, we’ve had a fresh lick of digital paint with a brand new online home for Dork – but we’re also bringing you a fresh edition of our monthly print mag too, dropping today (Friday 12th February)!

This month’s cover star needs no introduction, but we’ll do one anyway. Genuine grade A pop star Zara Larsson is massive. Huge. Her debut album ‘So Good’ did ridiculous numbers after its 2017 release, with her breakthrough smash ‘Lush Life’ fast approaching the billion streams club on Spotify. Now, she sits on the verge of the release of its follow up, the ‘no ballads, all bangers’ ‘Poster Girl’. With maximum pop energy, Zara’s definitely talking out language.

Of course, there’s loads more to get excited about in our new issue. You’ll find interviews including Julien Baker, Claud, dodie, 24kGoldn, SG Lewis, Architects and Isaac Dunbar. We do the numbers on smash hit sensation Olivia Rodrigo, check in for A Day in the Life of Chloe Moriondo, find out everything we can about Tom Grennan and let Dork’s resident listmaster general Martyn Young test your nerve with the first edition of his new regular Top 10s. This month, it’s the top 10 British bands of the last decade. Nothing you’ll disagree with there.

In Hype, we’re introducing you to a bumper batch of talent, including Gracey, Master Peace, MAY-A and Abbie Ozard, while JAWNY answers our usual daft questions. Plus, there’s all the usual reviews, news, ratings and nonsense – including our ranking of the best 5 food items you can buy in an Ikea, and our personal grudge against Paul Hollywood. What more could you want?

Dork, March 2021

You can order the new issue of Dork right now here, or subscribe and get the print edition sent directly to your door every month here. However, if you want even more from us, right now, we’re also delighted to reveal our brand new Dork Supporters scheme.

If you like what we do, we’re making available a new section of the site for those who wish to support us by signing up to a new monthly or annual subscription package. Different from our previous print-only subscriptions, the Dork Supporters scheme allows you to get early access to all our print content in digital form as soon as the issue launches, read digital versions of every single edition of Dork right back to issue 1, and get occasional exclusive extras too. You can sign up for digital-only or digital + print packages, which will give you immediate access. You can find more information here.

And don’t worry if you’re not signing up. You’ll still get everything you did before, as digital versions of our print content unlock to be read free of charge throughout the month. Enjoy!

Hello, ‘Dear Reader’

We’d like to ask you for a small favour. We have never been read by more people (hurrah! – Ed), and yet, thanks to the way the ad-funded media market operates, we earn little (booo! – Ed). This publication costs time, money and work – and with proper foundations, we can continue to invest to make it bigger and better than ever before. If you’re able, we’d love it if you’d consider becoming a supporter today. It’ll only take a minute, and you’ll get loads of extra bits and pieces in return. If you’re unable – don’t worry; most pieces are available to read totally free of charge, and many more supporter only articles will unlock after a period of time. Thank you very much!
