Dream Wife have delivered their first single of 2022, ‘Leech’.

The London-based trio’s most recent original release was 2020’s sophomore album, ‘So When You Gonna…’, which Dork’s 5-star review described as, “a fierce fest, exhibiting womxn heart from the inside-out and calling on all the warriors out there”.

The new single arrived today, November 9th, via Lucky Number and is the beginning of a “new Dream Wife era”. Addressing the double standards of power, ‘Leech’ hints towards a new project from vocalist Rakel Mjöll, guitarist Alice Go, and bassist Bella Podpadec in 2023.

On the single, they share: “‘It’s an anthem for empathy. For solidarity. Musically tense and withheld, erupting into angry cathartic crescendos. The push and pull of the song lyrically and musically expands and contracts, stating and calling out the double standards of power. Nobody really wins in a patriarchal society. We all lose. We could all use more empathy. As our first song to be released in a while, we wanted to write something that feels like letting an animal out of a cage. It’s out. And it’s out for blood…”

Dream Wife have also announced a new live show at London’s Peckham Audio on November 25th – tickets will be available here from 10 am this Friday, November 11th.
