Drive Like I Do – the 1975‘s other, pre-superstardom guise – have dropped new music!
Sort of. Technically.
If we’re being truthful, Drive Like I Do have uploaded a video to their Instagram account which features a few seconds of quite pretty low fi guitar. This, technically, qualifies as music.
You can check it out below.
Still, it’s something. Maybe we are getting that Drive Like I Do record Matty Healy talked about next month after all?
Last year, frontman Matty Healy suggested to us in a Dork cover interview that a DLID record was on the horizon. This all comes after some teasing, including Matty seemingly starting an Instagram account for the band, members of the group tweeting photos from that era, and another appearance for the acronym ‘GHEMB’ on Matty’s socials – something he referred to earlier this year in a Reddit post.
This all comes after The 1975 last week cancelled all their forthcoming touring for the year ahead.
In a statement, the band wrote: “We are really sorry to announce that we have made the decision to cancel all scheduled touring for 2021.
“These are incredibly difficult times for a lot of people, and until we can be sure that we will be able to play shows in a way that is safe for our fans and crew, we have decided the best course of action is to cancel our touring so that, where possible, everyone can get their tickets refunded sooner rather than later.”
“We’re currently making a new album and look forward to seeing you all at a show as soon as it is safe to do so,” they went on to state.
